Organized by Jonathan Todd, author/illustrator of Timid (Scholastic/Graphix), the Cele Sardo Comics Club exists to encourage children to enjoy and make their own comics. The club is named after Cele Sardo, the late mother of Todd’s best friend in 5th and 6th grade who encouraged Todd’s work, arranged for him to meet a professional cartoonist as a teenager, and preserved the zines he made with his best friend Joseph and their sixth-grade class.

Mission:

  • Encourage cartoonists of all ages to make comics, share comics, and revise comics to the creator’s satisfaction

  • Encourage cartoonists of all ages to encourage each other and publish and self-publish their work

Motto: Kids, Comics and Kindness

Activities

The Cele Sardo Comics Club meets quarterly at the Southborough Library, where cartoonists of all ages write and draw comics, as well as read and discuss the comics of others. We also like to munch on goodies!

Upcoming Events/Meetings

The club is open to anyone who draws cartoons and their cheerleaders. For more information, email Jonathan at jonathantoddbooks (at) gmail.com.
