Mini School Visit

Service Description

While traditional author visits in an auditorium or cafeteria can be interesting, I prefer to visit classrooms either in person or online. In this mini author visit, I spend the first third of your class period showing a slide show of how I became an author/illustrator and the lessons I learned along the way. Students can ask me follow-up questions, during and after the 15-minute presentation. In the second third of class, I lead the students in an English Language Arts activity of writing a true story of something that happened to them. In the final third of the class, we turn those narratives into a rough draft of a graphic narrative/comic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JZVMq9cnN8 Classroom visits are $500 per classes of up to 30 students (in person or online with no student limit) and include art supplies.
